Short video guide

Each clip shows one action. The teal dots mark the fingers. The arrow is the app’s cursor. Watch both: your fingers can be in one editor while the cursor sends the gesture to another.

Use the player’s fullscreen button when you want a closer look.

Move the cursor onto the cube, then tap anywhere to select it. Tapping the cube with your finger won’t aim the cursor for you.

Move the cursor between the Shader Editor and the 3D Viewport. Pinch in the same place with your fingers. The editor under the cursor gets the zoom.

These gestures change your view. The cube’s location, rotation, and scale stay the same. To change the object itself, use a modeling tool or gizmo.

Drag two fingers to look around the cube.

Drag three fingers to move the view sideways or up and down.

Aim the cursor inside the viewport, then spread two fingers to zoom in. Pinch them together to zoom out.

Choose the Move tool, then aim at one of its arrows. Tap, put the same finger down again, hold briefly, and drag. This changes the cube’s location.

Choose the Rotate tool and aim at a ring. Use the same tap, hold, and drag sequence to rotate the cube. The viewing angle stays the same.

Zoom nodes while your fingers stay over the viewport

Section titled “Zoom nodes while your fingers stay over the viewport”

The cursor is over the nodes. The pinch changes the node canvas, and the 3D Viewport stays still.

Aim over the nodes and drag two fingers. Use this to reach nodes that are offscreen.

Move the cursor into Properties. A pinch scales that panel’s controls, even when your fingers are over the viewport.

Aim at a node’s title bar. Tap once, put the same finger down again, hold briefly, then drag. The node moves while the viewport stays still.

The cursor wraps to the left edge. You can continue a long movement without running out of screen.

The top and bottom wrap too.

The cube returns to its rotation before the last edit. Keep the tap quick. Holding those two fingers opens a context menu instead.

The rotation comes back. Keep your fingers still: moving three fingers pans the view instead.

Hold two fingers still for about 0.3 seconds, then release. A quick two-finger tap is Undo, so give this gesture time to become a hold.

Tap with four fingers quickly and keep them still. Search opens at the cursor. Use it to find a command when you don’t know which menu contains it.

The touch reference lists the rest of the gestures, including Undo, Redo, dragging, and double-clicks.
